CHICKASAW NATION LIGHTHORSE POLICE DEPARTMENT HEADQUARTERS CAMPUS
The Lighthorse Police Department Headquarters Campus, commissioned by the Chickasaw Nation, is designed to centralize operations while embodying cultural values of transparency, honor, and service. Located southwest of Ada, Oklahoma, the campus features a main Headquarters Building oriented to the Northwest, symbolizing strength, reflection, and the wisdom that comes through perseverance. The exterior combines natural stone and brick veneer finishes, accented by cast stone bands for a dignified appearance. Clear anodized aluminum glazing systems and sunshades enhance energy efficiency and natural lighting, while a low-slope membrane roof ensures durability and discreetly conceals mechanical units.
Inside, the design reflects the natural elements and warm tones significant to the Chickasaw culture. The main lobby showcases the Chickasaw Nation Seal and Lighthorse Police badge, with a feature wall narrating the department’s history through photos and memorabilia. Warm wood tones, durable finishes, and specialty lighting create an inviting yet secure environment. The Training Facility includes versatile spaces such as a tiered training room, gym, and locker rooms, all outfitted with cost-effective, resilient materials to handle high traffic.
The Canine Quarters and Dive and SWAT Buildings adopt a utilitarian yet cohesive design, using pre-engineered metal structures with brick wainscoting. Interiors prioritize durability with sealed concrete floors and epoxy-painted walls, ensuring easy maintenance. Sustainable features like LED lighting, efficient HVAC systems, and internal stormwater management underline the Chickasaw Nation’s commitment to operational efficiency and environmental responsibility. Through thoughtful integration of tradition and modernity, the campus serves as a functional, symbolic hub for the Lighthorse Police Department and the community.
